PRIMARY : Ages 5-11 Example scheme of work

This example programme overview is based on 6 lessons per term for ages 5-11 years. It includes the statutory requirements for the updated RHE (Relationships & Health Education) guidance that schools must follow in England from September 2026. The curricula in Northern Ireland and Scotland and under review and we will be developing specific examples for Scottish and Northern Irish schools as curriculum changes are confirmed. 

We have been re-writing and updating our primary resource library, and there are likely to be minor modifications to the example Scheme of Work based on feedback from schools. We are also releasing the new material in batches. Older style lessons will be available until the updates have been added at which point they will be archived.
