Keeping Children Safe in Education Updates for September 2020
There have always been many links between PSHE and a school's statutory obligations within the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance. With the introduction of statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education, KCSIE needed updating. There are no major changes, however there is more emphasis on mental health and safeguarding, and also on subjects such as Child Criminal Exploitation, upskirting and Child Sexual Exploitation. To save schools time, we at Chameleon have produced a summary document that that highlights all the changes in KCSIE 2020 from the 2019 version. We have also added some commentary where applicable where the new guidance has direct relevance for a school's PSHE programme. We very much hope this summary document will be a time-saver for SLT, PSHE subject leads, DSLs and teachers. The document can be accessed on our website on any of the resource pages in the Free Resources list. You will need to create a free account to download the document if you have not already done so.
