A range of activities to explore the question of identity. Includes gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation

• Young people need to understand the factors that contribute to identity as they move through adolescence, which can be a confusing time.


• It is also important that young people understand what transphobia and homophobia are (or aren't), so they're fully informed and do not inadvertently fall foul of the Equality Act through lack of thought.


• The use of inclusive language and behaviour is important alongside an understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and the protected characteristics enshrined in this legislation.


• Understanding trans identities can be confusing for some young people, who may confuse gender atypical behaviours and other differences with being trans, so it's important to clarify any misconceptions around this.
