Are you looking for an age-appropriate lesson plan about grooming to include in your PSHE programme?

Ages 11-12 : Grooming

This lesson pack, written for early secondary pupils, educates them about what grooming is and ways to stay safe. It helps myth-bust stereotypes that some children have about people who groom and where this can happen. Both on and offline grooming is covered. The activities employ a range of distancing techniques so that students can discuss the topic without needing to share personal information, unless they choose to do so, and there are supportive teacher notes written for non-specialists to empower confident delivery. This pack contains the following activities:

  • What is grooming?
  • Where does grooming happen?
  • Help needed
  • Who grooms young people?
  • Spot the grooming
  • The island of Trenetin (advice giving activity)
  • Survey questions

This resource includes the following files:
