We write our own materials so why would we use Chameleon?
Your school is exactly the type of school that benefits from a Chameleon PDE subscription. Our editable resources are a collection of activities that you can bring together into a unique programme for your setting. Rather than spend 100s of hours writing from scratch, we’ve done the work for you. If you also use the ‘How Are You?’ survey which is included in the subscription, you will gain a deeper insight into the needs of your students so can tailor your programme even further. The training we include also up-skills your team across a range of PSHE themes and topics. We offer far more than resources!
Are we tied in to a 2, or 3 year licence?
Our Ts & Cs state that if you enter a discounted contract with us where the licence runs over more than one academic year, you are agreeing to pay the annual amount stated for each year of the contract. This is still the case if you cancel early.
Do you discount for small schools and MATs?
We are confident that our ‘wrap around’ support offers excellent value for money, however, understand that budgets are under more pressure than ever. We offer a saving of up to 33% depending on which licence you choose. We are always happy to speak to small schools and multi-academy trusts to discuss a license that will make your budget stretch as far as possible.

The Chameleon PDE subscription includes the licence to use our copyrighted materials. Schools/colleges must have an active subscription to continue using the resources. There are also additional benefits to renewing your subscription:

FROM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS
Can we change the questions in the 'How Are You?' survey?
Most of the questions in the survey are applicable to all students wherever they are studying. However, we do recognise there may be some cultural sensitivities in some international schools. Students can skip questions in the survey, and we also have a version with the ‘sensitive questions’ removed.
Our current international school partners have been able to use the survey without adaptation, however, if you would like a ‘bespoke’ survey designed for your setting, get in touch for an initial discussion and pricing.
How are local time differences catered for in your training?
All of our live webinars can be accessed online via our CPD gateway, either as recordings or online modules, so it’s easy for international schools to access the training whatever world time zone they are in.
Are your resources UK centric?
We already work with international schools who have diverse needs and Chameleon PDE resources provide the flexibility and choice they require to provide high quality PSHE lessons.
Most of our PSHE library packs are generic so can be used internationally. Where there are specific U.K. references e.g., to UK legislation, we have suggestions in the teacher notes about how this information can still be useful, for example by comparing and contrasting UK laws with legislation relevant to the country where the international school is located.
Many international students wish to study in UK universities so an understanding of British society, culture and law will help them to prepare for study abroad.
As our resources are in a library, rather than a set programme, and are editable, they are easily adapted to suit local context.

Local Authority Consultation
We understand that a Local Authority-wide approach can be impactful for the wellbeing of students. Our extensive expertise and experience in education and public health means that we have been able to successfully support Local Authorities and their schools with a range of initiatives. The details below provide a brief overview of some of the ways we’ve been supporting Local Authorities. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Gateshead Health & Wellbeing Service
We work with the team in Gateshead to provide consultancy and training to support primary schools across Gateshead with all aspects of PSHE and pupil personal development. This includes, bespoke training, provision of resources, one-to-one consultation, and advice, and supporting their annual Health & Wellbeing in Schools conference.
Hull City Council
We were commissioned by Hull City Council to audit PSHE in both alternative provision and post-16 settings. Our findings enabled the Local Authority to identify gaps in resourcing resulting in a further commission for us to create these materials. The resources developed were personal development education lessons for post-16 students, and a pupil profiling tool enabling schools to accurately record progress for SEND students in both SEND and mainstream settings.
Liverpool School Improvement Service
Our long-standing and ongoing partnership with Liverpool School Improvement Service includes supporting their bi-annual PSHE conference. We have also been commissioned to develop an accredited teacher training package to enhance the Relationships and Sex Education delivered across schools in Liverpool.
Swindon Borough Council
We have been working with Swindon Borough Council for several years and they have been fundamental in helping us develop our ‘How Are You?’ student survey that is a key feature offered as part of our subscription package. We are also commissioned to provide tobacco and vaping education for all 10–12-year-olds across the borough. In 2022 were commissioned support Swindon’s Covid recovery plan, with a borough-wide initiative to promote and build students’ aspiration, via a student-led project.
SURVEY ONLY SUBSCRIPTIONS
Chameleon PDE partner schools who have purchased Chameleon Navigate or Venture already have access to the ‘How Are You?’ survey portal as part of their subscription.
We recognise that some schools will have their base PSHE programme already in place, but perhaps do not have the student voice element they need to evaluate and monitor the impact of their curriculum.
To meet these needs we offer a ‘survey only’ subscription.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SURVEY
How much time does the survey take?
Average completion time is around 11 minutes, but may be longer if students require support with reading.
What sort of questions are asked?
The survey has 3 types of questions: Health-related and risk-taking/exploratory behaviour; Perceptions of the health-related, risk-taking/exploratory behaviours of their peer group; Views on PSHE. Thematically, the questions address common PSHE topics such as mental health, substance education, relationships and sex education, and also collects information relevant to your safeguarding provision.
Do we need to be 'techy'?
No. We provide you with survey links to share with students. The survey can be completed on any device. We complete all the analysis and provide you with reports.
Is the survey GDPR compliant?
Yes. Neither you or us can identify individual students. The survey is held on a UK platform that is GDPR compliant.
Can students complete the survey at home?
You will get the best possible response rate if the survey is completed in school/college. We strongly recommend that survey links are NOT sent home for students to complete in their own time. A survey link cannot be reopened if a student has partially completed.
Can we change the survey questions?
We collect anonymised responses from all our partner schools who run the survey. This means we are able to provide comparative data allowing schools to see where they sit compared to the ‘average’ amalgamated results. We cannot add, remove or change questions to the existing ‘How Are You?’ surveys. If you wish to run a bespoke survey with your students we can provide this. Please get in touch to discuss pricing.
Can we show parents the questions?
We can provide you with a link to the questions in advance (and before you make a choice to buy a subscription). Chameleon partner schools are also given copies of the questions in PDF format.
Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their child from the survey, and we provide a ‘letter template’ you can adapt.
If parents wish to see the questions we can provide you with a link. This contains a parental agreement stating the link is for their own use and any part of the survey should not be shared with others. This protects our intellectual property and also avoids survey questions being posted on social media or misrepresented in any way.
