Blood donation, organ & stem cell donation & antibiotics?

Ages 12-13 : Science & health

Statutory RSHE guidance for England states that secondary-aged students must learn about life-saving science, including vaccines, blood donation, stem cells, organ and tissue donation. In other UK nations, the guidance is not so specific, but these topics could be included in lessons about social responsibility and/or health.

This pack tackles these issues in a factual and distanced way, drawing on age-appropriate information from the NHS. The pack contains the following activities. We have created 3 new videos to help you deliver this material in a more engaging format.

Take 10 Activity 1 - Science & health
Take 10 Activity 2 - Antibiotics: OK or not OK?
Take 10 Activity 3 - Organ and stem cell donation (Video included)
Take 20 Activity 1 - Giving blood (NHS video recommended)
Take 20 Activity 2 - What are vaccines and how do they work? (Video included)
Take 30 Activity - Making a difference (Video included)
Challenge Activity - Design a blood donation campaign
